    DIFFA Dallas Features Natasha Bedingfield

    ● 05/12/17 – Dallas chapter of the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS

A performance by Natasha Bedingfield gave a little star power to the runway show and gala of the Dallas chapter of the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS last week.

Before a crowd of 1,550 at the Omni Dallas Hotel, Bedingfield sang “Take Me Away,” “Purple Rain” and “Unwritten,” accompanied by an acoustic guitarist.

“I am completely stunned,” the artist said. “There are so many beautiful people here. The costumes you have are filling my heart.”

DIFFA Dallas was founded in 1984 to support local AIDS service organizations. In 1988 it launched an auction of denim jackets embellished by designers and became known for the lavish runway productions in which they were paraded.

The show has been held every year since except 1993, 1999 and 2010. In recent years, the organization has simply asked designers for unique jackets to auction.

Giuliana Teso submitted one of this year’s best, a pieced camouflage fur cape trimmed in multicolor tassels. It was the fifth consecutive year that the Milan designer donated a fur to the fund-raiser.

“When I first called her to ask for a jacket, she said, ‘Why wouldn’t I?’” noted board member Carol Quist.

Among the 89 jackets and wraps were looks by Alexander Wang, Naeem Khan, Missoni, CH Carolina Herrera, Diane von Furstenberg and local designers including Binzario Couture, Nha Khanh, Geoffrey Henning, J.Hilburn, Finley Moll, Kelli Kouri and Tinsley Radix.

The show featured separate segments of styles from Forty Five Ten and the Dallas units of Traffic Los Angeles and Tenoversix. Event sponsor Headington Cos. holds interests in all of them.

The benefit also vends home furnishings, jewelry, accessories, beauty products, travel packages and other goods.

“The people in North Texas with HIV will be taken care of because of you,” board chair Chuck Steelman told the audience. “You can make a difference.”

Last year, the event grossed $1.4 million, but the 2017 total hasn’t been disclosed yet. DIFFA Dallas has granted more than $8 million to AIDS service organizations since its inception.

Hear Natasha Bedingfield’s Triumphant Comeback Song “Let Go”

She has been M.I.A for a while but Natasha Bedingfield is back and back really good.

The British chanteuse has teamed up with Nestea to write and record the new anthem of the Coca Cola Company brand. “Let Go” is the title of the song and it is simply amazing music. Probably one of the best songs Natasha’s recorded since the “Unwritten” days. It’s got a summery vibe, it’s super feel good and it’s a song where Natasha tells us “no matter where we go, we’re going to be alright”. Queen of positivity! Oh, and prepare to sing along with her when she does those “na na na na” chants after each chorus. We swear to God we’ve been humming to this at all times dice hearing “Let Go” for the first time over the weekend. A round of applause goes to the dreamy production as well. Love the well-balanced acoustic and laid-back synthpop combination Natasha did here.

We know “Let Go” is a song to promote Nestea but isn’t there a way for her to promote this as her own single as well? We hope so! Send this to radio and it will do good. Mark our words. This could be Natasha’s next “Unwritten”. Who knows!

PS: The music video above ranked at #1 on US YouTube’s trending section at one point. YAS. Come through, queen!

Natasha Bedingfield is a dance floor diva on new single ‘Unicorn’

    By Digital Spy

There’s one major difference between Natasha Bedingfield’s new single and a unicorn: one’s an incredibly magical and rare entity, while the other is a glorified horse with a horn on its head.

The British singer has teamed up with Belgian DJ Basto for their new collaboration ‘Unicorn’, which hears her transform into a dance floor diva.

It’s one of Natasha’s most uptempo tracks in years, and the full version is expected to be released in the coming weeks.

And here’s some extra information: Basto – real name Jef Martens – also goes under the alias of Lazy Jay. Yep, the one who produced Azealia Banks’s breakout anthem ‘212’.

This could end up being somewhat of a comeback year for Natasha Bedingfield, as Naughty Boy recently revealed she will feature on his own album due for release in 2016.

Moreover, the blonde star has been working on her fourth studio album for the past couple of years, so surely that’s in the offing too.

It will serve as the follow-up to 2010’s Strip Me, which didn’t fare too well on the charts.

But if there’s something we quite enjoy when it comes to pop music, it’s an unexpected comeback triumph.

She also posted a preview of the new music video. Check it out:

Natasha Bedingfield and the Band of Merrymakers to perform at this year’s Hollywood Christmas Parade

Clay Aiken, India.Arie and Taylor Hicks are among the musical acts scheduled to perform during the 84th annual Hollywood Christmas Parade, organizers announced Monday.

Also among those slated to perform on two stages during the parade are Daughtry, Kat Graham, Candice Glover, Sean Kingston, Heather Russell, Ruben Studdard and Ace Young. The event will also feature a performance by Band of Merrymakers, featuring Mark McGrath, Natasha Bedingfield, Tyler Glenn of Neon Trees, Kevin Griffin of Better Than Ezra and Sam Hollander.

The parade will also feature a “Magic of Christmas” segment with magicians from the TV series “Masters of Illusion.” The segment dove-tails with this year’s grand marshals — magicians Penn and Teller.

Also included in the event will be a salute to American soap operas, with appearaces by Rick Hearst, Emme Rylan and Bradford Anderson of “General Hospital”; Tristan Rogers, Kate Linder, Bryton James and Christel Khalil of “The Young & The Restless”; Scott Clifton and Jacqueline Macinnes Wood of “The Bold & The Beautiful”; and Martha Madison, Deidre Hall and Galen Gering of “Days of Our Lives.”

The parade will make its way down Hollywood Boulevard on Nov. 29, starting at 5 p.m. The annual Christmas event also will be nationally televised on CW Network channels as a two-hour special airing on Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. Pacific and Eastern times. Subsequent airings will begin Dec. 19 on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel.

Co-hosting duties for the parade will be shared by actors and television personalities Erik Estrada, Laura McKenzie, Dean Cain and Montel Williams.

The Score ‘deep life convo with Natasha Bedingfield

The Score had a “deep life convo” with Natasha Bedingfield at a party thrown by Nick Jonas.

The indie pop band – consisting of friends Eddie Anthony and Edan Dover – have just been signed to Republic Records off the back of their catchy tune ‘All My Love’ and revealed that just a few weeks ago they ended up at the ‘Chains’ hitmaker’s house chatting to the British songstress.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, lead singer Eddie recalled: “There was only like 20 people there at the party. You know it’s funny, and who is a very sweet person? I don’t know how this happened but we ended up having like a 20-minute a deep life convo with Natasha Bedingfield. We were just talking and we’re all kind of drinking and I’m like, doing my like British accent. She’s really sweet. We were talking about some deep stuff, I don’t know how we got onto it. She’s really cool though.”

Edan said: “She’s super cool and down to earth. She had some really massive songs.”

But the pair were even more thrilled to be “eating tacos and drinking tequilas” at the pop superstar’s party and with the massages they received.

Edan added: “Yeah, getting massaged from a pretty cute Russian girl. I did not think that was gonna happen! It was like, ‘Now we’re in LA, at Nick Jonas’ party, getting massages!’ ”

The boys released their debut EP ‘Where Do You Run’ last week and are working on their album of the same title due out early 2016.

But they’re grateful for people like Ariana Grande – who is also signed to Republic Records – for reassuring them that they’re in good hands.

Eddie shared: “We met Ariana Grande. She was like, ‘Welcome to the family!’ She said, ‘You’ve made the right choice, you’re with great people.’ ”

Edan added: “It’s gratifying because you’re literally going insane. You think what you’re doing is good, people tell you what you’re doing is good, but there’s always part of you that’s insecure, do I know what the hell I’m doing? So getting signed is like, ‘OK, here’s a professional seal of approval.’ You know what you’re doing and you’re making money from it.”

Natasha Bedingfield, Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi & More Sing a ‘Love Song to the Earth’ to Support Climate Action

Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Fergie, Natasha Bedingfield, Leona Lewis and Sean Paul are among the 16 international artists who have lent their voices to “Love Song to the Earth.” Recorded to help spur action on global climate change, the anthem launches worldwide on Friday exclusively through iTunes and Apple Music via Connect. The song will go into wide release on Sept. 11.

Written by Bedingfield, Paul, Toby Gad and John Shanks and produced by Shanks (Stevie Nicks, Kelly Clarkson) and Gad (John Legend, Beyoncé), “Love Song to the Earth” also features Colbie Caillat, Johnny Rzeznik, Krewella, Angelique Kidjo, Kelsea Ballerini, Nicole Scherzinger, Christina Grimmie, Victoria Justice and Q’orianka Kilcher. The artists, producers and directors of the “Love Song” project and Apple are donating their respective proceeds to Friends of the Earth U.S. and the United Nations Foundation.

Also premiering on Friday is a lyric video produced and co-directed by the project’s executive director Jerry Cope in collaboration with award-winning cinematographer Louie Schwartzberg. In addition to featuring several of the song’s performers, the lyric video includes cameos by keyboardist Chuck Leavell (Allman Brothers Band, Rolling Stones), comedian Lewis Black and UN Messenger of Peace Jane Goodall.

In a release announcing the “Love Song” launch, Gad said, “I hope this song will broaden the audience for this urgent message and give the politicians emotional support for meaningful climate agreement in Paris.” Gad is referring to the climate conference involving the world’s leaders that will take place there in December.

Added Bedingfield, “Many people turn a blind eye, arguing that everything is OK environmentally. The song reminds us that having ownership of our world means taking care of it. With this song we wanted to talk about the environment in a way that would help people feel empowered to do something rather than be paralyzed by fear.”
