I find myself having more to say so keep checking this blog as it will be full of new morsels from me! It won’t be linked with Twitter, but fear not my Tweethearts, I will still be Tweeting as I won’t be able to resist the Twitter binge!

Rascal Flatts Recruit Natasha Bedingfield for ‘Easy’ Video

Rascal Flatts are ready to film the video for ‘Easy,’ with British pop star Natasha Bedingfield — who recorded the song with them — joining them in Nashville for the shoot.

“That’s their next single, and we’re actually going to do their video in about two weeks,” Natasha tells The Boot. “I love them! It’s so interesting because they are more country, they have that country flavor, and I am so amazed at how country musicians value real music. It has been awesome to work with them.”

Natasha is traveling to the U.S. to launch the next leg of her Less Is More tour, and she’s looking forward to working with the trio who each “have their own distinct personality,” she says. In fact, the singer hints that she plans to write with Flatts bassist/piano player Jay DeMarcus and perhaps record with the band again.

On her current tour, Natasha says she is adopting country music’s stripped-down approach that moves away from glamor and glitter and focuses more on the music. That’s something she and Kelly Clarkson bonded over when they met at the May 7 Coca-Cola 125th Anniversary Celebration in Atlanta.

“We both looked at each other and said, ‘We have to do something together. We just have to sing something,” says Natasha. “She’s got an amazing voice … She has got pipes, that girl. When she sings, she is very emotional. You feel her singing very deep inside.”

Natasha’s emotions are what prompted her to record ‘Easy.’

“If something gives me goosebumps, I want to get involved,” she says. “I just knew I could sing that song because I love what it is about. A lot of things in life people think are easy aren’t easy. The subject and song are so deep, and everyone has been through a break up and trying to make it look easy. Everyone can relate to that.”

Natasha is currently in Munich, Germany, and doesn’t yet know all the video details. Based on recording with the trio, though, she expects to have plenty of fun.

“It was cool,” she says of recording ‘Easy.’ “I don’t usually work with that many people around in the studio, but they had many guests. There were famous football players and a whole crew. It was really a lot of fun.

“In the next five or 10 years you’ll likely see a folk-country album from me, and a dance project,” Natasha continues. “I want to work with a lot more artists. Music is movement, especially nowadays with the internet. There is so much talent out there. I just really want to bring it all together and do music with other people rather than make it about one person.”

OMG, I can’t wait, i love this song!

Natasha Bedingfield Tour Falls Victim To Volcanic Ash

Natasha Bedingfield’s tour of Germany has been disrupted due to a volcanic ash cloud which has grounded flights across Europe.

The British singer is currently performing shows in the country and was due to fly from the southern town of Munich to Berlin on Wednesday (25May11). But ash from a volcanic eruption in Iceland has caused major disruption to flights in the country and Bedingfield has been forced to drive across the nation to ensure she makes it to the capital in time for the gig.

In a post on Twitter.com she writes, “Mr ash cloud why you so grumpy! Now I have to drive five hours to get to Berlin tonight. Now u (sic) made me grumpy.”

The volcanic eruption comes a year after a similar incident in Iceland led to closure of airspace across Europe and weeks of travel chaos.

Bedingfield’s back in Australian singles Charts

Natasha Bedingfield appears in the top 40 of the Australian singles charts for the first time since 2004 this week with her new duet Jet Lag.

The British pop star, who scored a bunch of hits in the early noughties with songs like Unwritten and These Words, has joined forces with Canadian rockers Simple Plan for an unexpected comeback.

A catchy pop/rock anthem about the disadvantages of long distant relationships, Jet Lag represents a different sound for the usually soulful diva.

Perhaps this is the way forward given frosty reception her 2010 album Strip Me in America – traditionally her biggest market.

Interestingly, Simple Plan also recorded the song with Canadian pop diva Marie-Mai, who sings Natasha’s part in French (listen here).

That version is fun too but I’m on team Bedingfield.
